Born in Christchurch, NZ, Tim didnt make a representative team until he was 18 but then went on to win National Championships with Canterbury U20 and U23 teams. In 2001 he was tournament MVP at the NZ U23 Finals and part of the New Zealand Basketball athlete development programme. For the following 5 seasons he played for the Canterbury Rams in the NZ National Basketball League (NBL) and Co-captained the team in 2006.  

Upon arriving in London in 2007, Tim tracked down former Checkers team-mate 'Hav' to play some ball and is now appearing in is rookie season with Rocco's.
